slice stupidity

I accidentally hit some button and know it shows a stupid blue border witha number in the corner of everything I open. Well actually I figured out how to turn off the number, but how do I get the border to go away?

i thought that was default.... its like that on mine but. i do believe.... view/show/slices ?? maybe that can toggle them on and off
