mmm....

Perhaps the best advice I could give, do not use the extract tool under any circumstance. There are enough masking tools that can be utilised without resourcing to the sub-standard tool of extract.

Learn to use it right, and it's anything but sub-standard.

Without wishing to flame anyone or offer bad advice, I have never seen anyone use that tool in a production enviroment. However, if you get good results from it then thats cool. Sorry for sounding so negative.

My two cents:

I don't use the extract tool as I can make decent selections using other ways, so that I have never learned how to use the extract tool. I'm guessing that it works quite well if you are good at it, but from my experience it takes some practice to become good at it. My advice would be to learn other methods, which will work just as well and won't take as long to learn.

the Extract Tool, as obvious as its intented to do will work on particular situations.... works great for me in most of my production work......

the worst advise nebody can give is tell someone what not to do,
cuz you void yourself the opportunity the chance to learn firsthand
