ho to do this?

I want to create something like this, http://www.metallica.com/skins/1/images/james_left.jpg , been trying with no luck.

Anyone have a good read or tutorial or anything they can pass along to accomplish something like this?

The eraser airbrush tool, the extract tool, the pen tool....nothing hard about accomplishing that at all.

Actually to do it just like that, the airbrush tool would be the best. Overlay the images, erase/airbrush out what you don't want.

Layer masks can offer the same compositing effects without damaging the image data.

Something to think about...
