hey guys, im new =] i need help on image merging to background? |

hello, just found this cool forum and registered. im not new to photoshop, i have been photoshopping and pretty much know all the basic.. im not sure if this is a basic or advance question. but i want to learn on how to place or merge a subject (text/picture) to a back ground.. ie (textured street or wall). i really appreciate it..

by merge you mean making it look like it's a part of the wall, or painted? Use overlay on the layer you want to merge, CTRL+click the layer to get a selection of it's contours, activate the bg-layer and hit CTRL+J to copy a new layer of the selection from the bg layer, hit CTRL+SHIFT+U to desaturate the newest layer, play with the levels on it if needed. That's how I do it, I'm not sure what you meant by merging though. o.o |

yes, i dont think overlay help much.. seems like it looks translucent to the bg. i wanted to learn how to create a text letter or picture and put it on top to a road/street.. and make it look like its really part of the road with its rock like textures. (white arrow signs on road as an example) thanks. |

Well I would just play around with the layer options... And put the right angle on the text...play with the edit -> transform... But I guess you should listen to Paavo perkele...because if you go to his site and look at his fake graffiti stuff you can see that he knows what he is talking about |
