Hello, I was exploring Photoshop and came across the 'Smart Highlight' tool via the Extract. Buy choosing the edge highlighter (b) and holding 'Ctrl' I'm able to use the 'Smart Highlight' tool. My question is what does this really do? I check the PS help but I'm still confused about its capability as a tool. Can anyone explain this (with examples if possible) Regards Fess |

Then you didn't check the help properly ;) Go into help choose selecting/Extracting objects from their background (Photoshop) There you have examples of what smart highlightning does... Ie: Smart Highlighting. This option helps you keep the highlight on the edge, and applies a highlight that is just wide enough to cover the edge, regardless of the current brush size. Smart Highlighting can greatly improve the extraction when the object and background have similar colors or have textures. And: Use Smart Highlighting to trace sharper edges. Use a large brush to cover wispy, intricate edges where the foreground blends into the background, such as hair or trees. Patric. |

Patric.... Yeah I read that in the help first time around. Just didn't stick I guess  I understand now. Compared to what I did before to extract an object (just using the highlight tool), using the smart highlight is amazing. I get a much cleaner extraction with less work. Hey thanks for the info....
