Making a website in PS for 100% width |

Say you have a design all ready for slicing in Photoshop. How do you make it so that instead of just being a block in the middle of the page it can stretch to 100% of the window's width? For example, the header on http://www.mediatemple.net/.

That black/grey bg is partly the menu, the rest is one small repeated image that covers an entire column. Say you make the black/grey image, at 40px tall, 1 or 2px wide. You create your table: [php]
A background set to a td tag will repeat itself for as big as the column is. So it "fills" all that extra space that would normally be there. If any of that made sense. edit: of course it's not PHP, this silly software still seems to parse code within code tags...kinda defeats the purpose. | ||

i usually just open the html page exported from photoshop, copy that table and paste it into another table that has 100% for width with a little background strip that repeats.
