ok.....so i wanna make a opening animation for my flash where different parts of my button move (im making my button in photoshop) but i need to save the image with no background....just the image i made. how can i do this |

Right click "Background" in the layers window and click "Delete layer." Not sure exactly what you're asking, but i think that's it. Nos. |

Basically what you need to do is create a transparent .gif. Delete the background layer so you get the white and grey grid which signifies "nothing there" in the background. Then make your foreground color approximately the same color as the color you're putting it on. Go "Save for Web..." and choose GIF instead of JPEG. Check "Transparency" and choose the matte to be "foreground color." Basically what that means is that it blends pixels with that color so that it will look good against that color. Think this will do the trick. tom |

…keep in mind that you do not need to delete the background layer in order to save a transparent gif. You can just hide it in the layers palette by clicking the "eye" icon and it will not effect the transparency. -pc |
