Basically you can do this: 1. Learn the random texture tutorials on none other than www.teamphotoshop.com 2. Make a texture you like 3. Get a simple font, make it big, and make it black 4. Rasterize the font layer (right click on layer, choose rasterize) 5. ctrl-click on font layer, do not lose selection 6. click on the texture layer NOTE: texture layer should cover up more than the area of the text 7. do ctrl-i (invert selection), and delete what you've selected 8. You should now have the texture layer shaped like the text 9. Put text layer BEHIND texture layer 10. Set it to overlay or soft light (blending mode: the pull down thing that ususally says "normal" on the layers window) 11. That should give you the desired effect NOTE: I didn't actually try this, just kind of did it in my head. So if you run into any troubles, ask here. |

if u use Pshop 7, you can also do this: -Type a text (make it bold) -rasterize the font and ctrl click the font layer (the "marching-ants" appear) -go to brush tool, set the brush tool until u get the 'brush stroke' tip. Make sure the brush is in 'screen' mode. -Brush it to the font. Tips: use variety of screen opacity mode. |
