Old light-colored stone

Not sure how to explain this but the old www.warcraft.org used to have this cool stone texture. It was a creamy colored stone texture that wasn't the rough and grainy kind but more like aged, slightly yellowed marble. I've experimented with various stone techniques but have yet to get it quite the way I see it in my head. Would appreciate any links or suggestions.
