Hehe, tried it and I think like mihai's tut on radial gradient there is a lot of experimental possibilities wiz this one...

Like instead of making that twirl after linear gradient fill, ctrl+u and colorize...do a stylize/glowing edges and then artistic/neon glow and then ctrl+u and colorize it in what color you want, and you get decent...eh..."neonstrings"

...Or whateva' *not so bored anymore*

And as Utopian said in an earlier post

...I might suggest that you expand on it, making suggestions and showing some examples of other blending modes and other gradient styles. Perhaps make suggestions for other post-gradient processing...
(Sorry, Utopian, for stealing comments from you, but it made sense...;) )

Yeah I agree a lot of possibilities with the gradient, I'm currently tesitng out one of them too the oil painting effects. But anyways, your tutorial looks great maybe just a bit more explaination on how did you get these many gradients........ Other than that, if it is your first tut then it looks awesome, you must possess some nice skills. One point though I want to make, if the outcome of the image is without those glassy looking spike, (only the twirled part) it would look very professional and 100% better I think.

Cheers
