Hey there,

I thought i would ask this question about Illustrator, even though THIS IS a photoshop forum. I would imagine a lot of us use both.

So, about gradients. I am pretty new to Illustrator (mostly use photoshop) and I want to make a gradient. The default in AI is a black to white gradient. I can't figure out how to change it. Anyone out there game?

psst...a lot of us do use illustrator, that's where there's a 'misc software' section that mentions illustrator in the title ;)

p.s. there's a gradient tab in illustrator you might want to check out

I have checked out the gradient tab. It won't release the B/W.

try clicking on one of the arrow-topped squares underneath the gradient bar and check out your color palette.

just tried that after your post. no go. i've pulled the bars back and forth. I've clicked around on the color hoping the color would pop into the gradient. nothing.

then you broke illustrator, cause it works fine here

when you have a gradient selected it should show up in your color palette square as a gradient and none of the sliders are active. after clicking on a color square underneath the gradient slider palette a solid color in your color palette should become active. if it doesn't your illustrator or your file is having serious issues.

OH GREAT I BROKE IT! I should get a prize of some sort. Wonder what Adobe gives out for this.

Yah I have no idea what's going on. That's why I came here to post. I'll keep hunting and clicking.
