Hi, I'm fairly new to Photoshop 6. But, I have a lofty task I'd like to take on. Does anyone know a tutorial, or can anyone tell me how to make a graphic similar to the one at the top of this website? www.getglobe.com How do you make that swish type shape? How do you get that chrome/glass looking texture? How do you get the braiding effect? Any other help would be appreciated. getshelly |

No, this section is fine, I made similar shape before (tentacle) the shape is done with most likly Filter >> Distort >> Sheer and I don't think that's a TEXTURE but works of airbrush and bevel effects? (Not really sure someone correct me) You can find similar tut on this shape on http://robouk.mchost.com/tuts/tutorial.php?tutorial=tentacles Good luck! |

Someone moved my post to the appropriate forum. Thanks. X-fusion - thanks for the tutorial. I didn't know that design was called tentacles, I kept calling it a "swish", and you can imagine what my search results were for "swish"....everything about the program Swish. Thanks again, I'll try that and see if I get decent results. Shelly |

just look for photoshop tutorials in general. your questions are really common so odds are you'll stumble across appropriate tutorials by accident.

My tentacles don't look very smooth, but I will keep working on them. I started out with a triangle, then flipped it on it's side, then I used the filter>distort>twirl to bend the triangle. See what you think. Feel free to critique the rest of the site, although it's not anywhere near done. http://www.getlaughs.com/ |
