Techniques: Creating Eyeballs Question

i need some help with step 6. I can not get it to select just that crecent shaped selection. whenever i select anything it selects a star-shaped thing based on the blue and white colors.. any help will greatly be appreciated. thanks!

At that step you should still have the "Elliptical Tool" still selected. Then you hold down the "ALT" key and drag your shape selecting the area you want DELETED from your circle. You're not going to be using the SHAPE tool at all.

I did it just this morning with many attempts to get the "eclipse" shape the way I wanted but that's how you do it.

Read the directions closely.....

it worked great. forgot i had to have that tool selected. thanks again.
