So lost, my inverse select keystroke no longer works (shift+ctrl+i), from the menu it works fine though. Is there some preference somewhere that I may have changed somehow, this is with PS7, no updates. TIA.

First: Update to 7.0.1. It fixes a number of problems, some of which you may not have encountered yet. Just do it. Second: Sometimes there are other applications that may hijack keyboard shortcuts. The IM client "Trillian" is knownn to do this. Turn off any of that background crap when working in Photoshop. Trim down your system to be lean and mean. |

you have probably have some app running that's "stealing" that shortcut. I know ICQ did that for me when I was using it. Try and locate who it is, and disable it from there. Otherwise you can use ALT+S+I too. EDIT: Heh, utopian beat me to it. :D |

Goodbye Trillian, it was the culprit, just installed it and it didn't even cross my mind. Thank you so much. Back to PS'ing happily again.
