Hey all... I have searched everywhere on a tutorial for drawing a glass of water. I want to make a graphic with a cylinder, add water to it, then make it appear to have a glassy look. can anyone help me out? would it be best for PhotoShop or Paint shop? Any help would be appreciated..thanks.

There's a reason it's called PHOTOshop.

Ok, So what program would be best to create an object that does not exist just yet? I dont want to draw just an ordinary glass of water, but that was the best example i could give for what i want to make. Thanks |

It kind of depends on WHAT it is you're trying to simulate, and whether you're any good at making the software do your bidding. Certainly, the truly artistic and adept could create just about any image with Photoshop—have a look at my buddy Colin Smith's award winning Ibanez guitar creation, for example. If you don't know Photoshop quite well, you're going to have a tough time with creating your glass of water. I've never run across a tutorial for one. This is more a case of really knowing how to wrassle all the tools and techniques well, so you can get what's in your head to appear on screen. Sorry to be so vague, but doing something like that is closer to actual painting than it is to just following "step A, step B, step, C....glass of water!" It requires knowing your tools well, and how and when to use which tool or technique, just like in any artistic endeavour. |
