Hi

I am designing a brochure (for print), on the brochure there is to be images of websites i have created.

Now these web sites are in 72dpi, but i need them to be put on a brochure that is 300dpi.

Will i have to re-create them again to a res of 300dpi, or are there any other tricks i can use with the 72dpi images that will acheive good results.?

Thanks for any help and time given.

unless you have made the layouts in larger sizes, you can't size them up without losing quality.

sadly you can only go down in quality.
if the website is not that detailed, and there isnt much going on in the design, you might be able to pull it off.

whats the site?.

is a total bummer, i know what you mean, and is like a reflex to make your documents 72 dpi

If you are just putting small thumbnails of the sites on there it shouldn't be a problem. But if you are putting them on there pretty big it would be more difficult.

If you are printing your websites, you can take screen shots and open a new doc in 300 resoluton. Paste, voila.

And when it goes to the printer the screenshots will be of good quality when printed?

You can make the document 300 dpi when pasting a screen shot. Yes they are just fine.

Small hint when recreating your graphic !

You know that when you're working in a higher dpi, you have more pixels (duh!). So this means that you'll have to change the pixelamount when using filters.

e.g. In your 72dpi, you use a gaussian blur - amount 6px

If you want the exact same blur in 300dpi, you'll notice that 6px isn't enough to achieve the same effect.

Now there's a formula for this, but i'm not gonna bore you with that.

the 'more or less' rule is, multiply by 4

in this case 24px gaussian blur for your 300dpi document.
