Hi, I saw this site and I was wondering how they made that picture pixelated like that. http://angelicon.topcities.com/cstrike.html

copy the layer, apply the pixelate filter (mosaic), with a HUGE strength, and lower the opacity of that layer or change blendingmode or something. Looks like crap IMO tho. :p

No wait man, the results aren't the same, mosaic... is well a mosaic, it's not clean trimmed tiles.

If you look at it closely, you can see that they're just a number of squares arranged in some random fashion. Just make a square, then make another square the quarter of that size and have it set aside. Then just load the selection of either the small or big square, fill the selection with a color of your choice in another layer, position it and apply a layer blending mode that would look good, something like Overlay or Soft Light. Then just repeat with different tints and shades of the base color until you make some weird looking thing like that. Oh and don't forget to play around with opacitys and such. Paavo's method DOES work, just that all the squares are the same size. Then agian, it's A LOT faster and easier too. |
