Making Cut Out areas tut

I'm not exactly new to Photoshop but this question doesn't fit in the Advanced section.

Anyways I'm going through the Making Cut Out areas tutorial and in point 3 ittells you to give the circle some dimension. It doesn't really tell you how to do this, I suspect the anwser is easy.

Another thing I would like to ask is where can I upgrade my KPT 5 to KPT 5.01 or whatever version was needed for the logo tutorial

Give it a round highlight on the upper right with a high opacity airbrush, and then airbrush around it with a little lower opacity. If that makes sense. Get a sphere and look at how the light hits off it.
