http://www.bladegash.net/forums/index.php?styleid=6 The banner at the top of that style (Anime Style) is the best example of what I wanted to do I could find. Basically, on the left of that banner is a yellow bit, which looks sort of messed up, as does the area around the eye in the middle. I was wondering how I could achieve that effect in Photoshop. Thanks in advance, SunGod. |

hmmm...Looks like grunge to me. Get some grunge brushes (check out the resources section for brush sites) and use them to erase or draw black/grey/color to the image. Either that or get a picture of a texture (rust, spattered paint, peeling paint, etc.) and fool around with opacity, layer styles ("overlay" works well), and brightness/contrast. I'm not too great with it but I make this (http://trhaynes.ionichost.com/stuff/head.html) with three images set on overlay. Try it. And if its the other stuff you're talking about, just make lines and stuff until it looks good. Make some patterns and draw them in, set them on overlay maybe, etc. I'm not too good at it so I won't say much more. Good luck. tom |
