Hi I am new to the forum and would like to ask a question of how to make a effect of foggy glow looking landscape picture. I tried the guassian blur with gradien fill, but not quite the same as I wanted. I wonder if PH can do the job with buying the other plugin filter. enclosed a sample effect which I would like to make. Patuwe |

It is not quite like what you say big blur. Yes, it is the picture A98E70 in alamy.com . Besides big blur, the high light area glow nicely and sharper than only a blur effect. I tried to make a background copy and reduce the opacity to make guassien blur, not as good as. Too far away. But thank for giving a tips anyway. ##I did once a big blur and big sharpen, the result come out quite interesting too. but not Foggy. |

A different way of doing it would be to create a 1px scanline layer in a seperate Channel, load that selection then Right-click the image layer and select Layer via Copy. Then adjust the Brightness/Contrast (try +10/+20 first, or play around with the settings) and apply a 1~3px Gaussian blur. Duplicate the layer twice. On the top blur layer, set the layer mode to Overlay with ~50-75% opacity. On the middle blur layer, set the layer mode to Soft Light. On the bottom blur layer, change the opacity to ~50~100%. Also, you can check out Paavo's shorter method at: http://www.astudios.org/dark/index.php?section=../contents/tutorials_photoshop/shine/shine The result should look something like this. |

Use a webhost and link it. pank (the owner) disables image upload since it'll eat the monthly bandwidth way too quickly.
