I'm trying to figure out how to do the following: Mouseover a slice -> Change visibility of some layers When I 'save optimized' ImageReady is saving ALL the slices in the image, not the ones that require updating. So basically if I have N mouseovers, I have N versions of each slice, even though they are identical (with different filenames) I only want certain slices to be updated during these mouseovers. How can I do this? Thanks |

What is happening, I am suspecting, is that when you are setting the mouseover mode, you have the others selected as well. What you need to do is make sure the other states are not selected.

Hum, let me explain. Say I hae an image: XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXCCCXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XRXXRXXRX Ok. the R slices would be the rollover slices. When mousing over them the slice in C would change. What is happening is that when mousing over the C slices are changing, but so are all the X slices. However, you don't notice any change in the X's since there is no graphical change. Basically all of the X images have multiple copies, one for each rollover. This is way too bloated and causing very long load times. |

So what i noticed is the #1 and the #3 slices are affecting Zone 4. Its easy to get off one when selecting roll over states, which is kind of what i was trying to say, but its hard to word. Typically when you do get off you end up with a bunch of duplicates. and #0 I didnt see do anything. Let me know if that was the problem. For some reason it is giving me an error when I save as to see it in html form. I think its because I dont have the fonts. |

What do you mean by get off? You mean mouse off? *A little confused* How are slies #1 and #3 affecting the Zone 4 set? Are you opening some sort of menu to see this? I don't see how there is anyway to associate a rollover state with another slice. I thought ImageReady just looks to see if there is a Style, Visibilty, or Transparency change on a layer and updates those slices during a rollover event, but I guess not. |

Nevermind man. Thanks. I think what was happening was there was some stray pixels that I could not see that were in fact outside of slice #3 that were affecting the saving of slices when I changed layer visibility, so it was forced to updated a bunch of slices over the mouseovers.

When you are in IR and you are looking at each rollover, double check with each state to make sure what you are rolling over is the right layer. What I noticed is when you selected OVer state for #1 and #3, it changed Zone 4. That is an easy mistake to do. Esp when you go back and edit roll over states. But you probably found out something else as well. =) |
