Hi everyone I'm having a bit of trouble with a simple ps command. I'm not sure of the proper term, so I'll try to be as specific as possible. I'm trying to add those "cuts" in my layouts. I know this isn't a very good description, so with permission, here's an example H E R E of what I'm talking about. If you look at the very very top of the layout where it's sort of "cut" or "caved in". I've tried using the selection tool, but it doesn't come out right. I'm also trying to add an outerglow to the layout after I "cut" it...but it's no activated. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks a bunch |

I'm not really sure what you mean by "cuts". Do you want a concave shape? Or what exactly? Maybe a more specific screenshot would be better. tom |

Yeah OK what you need to do is get the rectangle shape tool and make a rectangle. Then click the "subtract from shape" icon at the top of the screen. Make another rectangle, select it, and choose Transform>Perspective. Drag it so that it looks good. Fool around with it - it should work. tom |

make sure that you have the ruler on and set to pixels then drag guidelines to specific intervals, I would probably then be tempted to use either the pen tool (with caps lock on or the polygonal lasso tool) - either way make your selection and press delete. loads of ways to accomplish this really, just find one that suits you. |
