Hey, is there a way to take a scene from an mpeg file or an avi file and bring it into photoshop?

Take a screen cap. Download Virtual Dub, open the video file and scroll to the frame you want to cap and hit Print Screen. If you tried it with WMP, it'd show up as blank.

Or just turn your hardware excelleration off for a minute and take a screenshot. That saves downloading a program.
