hey i have PS7 how can i make a lens flare on a page so i can save the lens flare as a .png and use in flash. when i do a lens flare on a transparent bg. it says "selected area is empty". any ideas??? thanks |

Well you can only use a lens flare on pixels ... so you have to fill your layer with 'something' and then apply your lensflare.... you can use white or black and change your blending mode to screen or multiply .. but in this case it wont help you one bit because you only want the flare and no background. The parts in a lens flare are always semi-transparant. I mean a value between 0% and 100% .... and if you want to save it as an image you'd have to choose between 0% or 100% because you cant save an image with for example 43%. So basicly you'll always have a 'dirty' lens flare because you'll always see parts of your background image in the flare. If this is fine with you then just make a selection of your flare => invert it => and press delete Alternative: You can create and animate the flare in adobe aftereffects. You can export it then to flash. (haven't tried it yet, but i know it's possible). |
