How can you batch create thumbnails in Photoshop or ImageReady? What I would like to do is set up a width variable (say, 100 pixels) and allow the rest to resize proportionally. I'd also like the thumbnailed file to be something imagename-th.jpg imagename2-th.jpg where it adds a "-th" on the end. I want to do this to over 2,000 files. :D If this is a pain to do in Photoshop, are there any other programs that do it easily, like Thumbsplus or any of those? I'd rather do it in Photoshop, but would consider getting one of the others if it's cake, or the program is free. tia |

You create an action that does what you need, on one image. Then you go to File --> Automate --> Batch. The dialogue box comes up. First you designate what Action you will be using to automate with. Then a source folder, and a destination folder. If you look at the options you will see what can be done. Now as far as setting only the width, I am not 100% sure how that will work. But give it a shot. It moves real fast so throw a dozen images or so into a folder and test it out. |
