Creating a spotlight

I'm going to create a website for one of my customers. He wants a spotlight pointing to two dancing people.

I'm having a kind of a designblock for a few weeks and I'm over the deadline already...

Can anybody tell me where I can find a example, tutorial or maybe sombody can explane how I should do it?

get a large brush...on an angle(toward the ppl)... paint a white streak then gaussian blur it. If it doesnt quite give you the effect your looking for...it might be a good starting point anyway.
