Hello all,

Look at this image:

Any idea how I can extract the "City Of Heroes" text without harming it? Or any idea how I can make a replica of that text?

Thanks for reading.

As for the extraction, try the magic wand tool...it looks to me that the surrounding is pretty much the same color. If you start getting weird selections, increase the "Tolorance" at the top, when the magic wand if selected.

As for creating the text, not too sure

Allright will try the magic wand. I'd try the lasso tool but I suck at dragging it around... do not have a steady hand! Any filters I can use? What about the background eraser for the black area?

Heh @ Spectra.

Clip 'em out, using the Pen Tools to make your selection.

There are so many ways to extract or cut out objects. Good to try them all out and understand how. So for a short list:
1. Eraser. (man I remember those painstaking moments at first.)
2. Use the magic lasso tool thang. and the magnetic one.
3. The magic wand.
4. Color Range - this one is great if you have bold colors.
5. Using channels (start looking in the TeamPS tutorials. There is a good one there. This is great for more difficult stuff.)
6. The extract tool. Good for getting rid of a lot of stuff, but more along the line of the eraser tool.
There are probably more, but I tend to know a few tricks and use them over and over.

remember sharif it may be strenuous but keep in mind, the more time and painstaking effort you put into it, the better it will turn out.
