Ok, create a new photoshop document.... size 2pixels x 2pixels fill it with black..... now select half of it with your rectangle selection tool.... fill it with white. you should have a little half white/half black pic now.... CTR + A to "select all" of the document >EDIT>DEFINE PATERN --name it now, in the document you want to use scanlines make a new layer above the object you are going to give the scanlines to.... >EDIT>FILL select "pattern" and select your scanline pattern you just made. and click ok now change the scanline layer's blend mode (in the layers pallet) to "multiply" (play with it) To get rid of the scanlines in places you dont want them.... CTR + click the layer (in the layer pallet) of the object that you gave the scanlines to. this will make a selection outline the shape of that object.... Now select the scanline layer and then look at the bottom of the layers pallet and click the quickmask button.... that should do it BTW there are a hundred ways to do it |

torn, why fool with blending modes.. just follow the normal way of making scan lines, but instead of white, just leave it transparent, if you ever want white scanlines, just invert it.. (another good reasons for filling the pattern on a seperate layer) Snore |

Built in scan lines... 1. Open up image 2. Have the default colors (foreground=black background=white) 3. New layer and fill it with white 4. Change Blend mode to "overlay" and an opacity of 75% 5. Filter - Sketch - Halftone and change the pattern type to "Line". Instant scan lines... Just play with the other two settings... |
