how can i make arcs?

i can't figure it out!
like a boomerang type of arc, not the McDonalds arches...single arc type images.

Then stroke the arc shape you make.

Or,

Make an oval with the circle marquee tool. Fill it with a color. Now either use the same shape, or make a smaller oval, and move it sideways a little. (assuming your oval is laying down longways). Now press delete. Basically you are making an oval, and deleting part of it with another oval. That's how you make those crazy swoosh logo things.
