frankly its up to yourself.. You can use red, green, yellow even pink (just see 3jorn at www.3jorn.com ;)) Its actually just a matter of you finding the right tone of the color for your website.. f.ex. A dark red color can look amazing at one site, but look like crap compared to a lighter red on another site.. So, choose a color you want to play around with, find the right tone and make a good layout.. and you should come out on top |

Also for some general info......dont stick to one specific tone and say thats the color of my site. A good site / color scheme will usually use different tones in one layout. Also dont be afraid to try compliments. They create the greatest contrast where contrast is needed. And dont forget just about every layout will include white and/or black in some way....so ontop of the color you pick and the different tones of it...you have white, black and 256(? i think) diff. grays to play with.

seriously, i have played around for literally 6-7 hours some nights messing with color combos. When you see something that works, it will click. It just takes a great deal of patience and observation. When looking at the colors, try and picture them somewhere in your site. For example, if your looking at 3 colors, imagine one color near the banner of your site, the other as sub headers, just imagine the colors in YOUR site.
