Lets say I make a small image with the pen tool, or the lasso... This is a bad example, but here it is: http://www.hward.com/images/jagged-edges.gif And I want to make all those square points smooth, so it looks like one big fluid shape. Is there anyway of obtaining this? Thanks in advance for any help :D |

lol yeah, pen tool. We all know it can be a bitch to start learning to use it, but it won't take many hours of experimenting untill you see how it works. Do that. EDIT: You made the westkoast site and you don't know how to use a pentool ? |

I don't have problems working with vector shapes in macromedia...just photoshop.... At least illustrator has an option to smooth out your pen tool points... |

You can cntrl- click on that shape in the layers panel to select it, then switch to the Channels panel, create a new channel (while still selected.) then fill with white. Now deselect it and gaussian blur the object until the edges are all fuzzy and smoothed out. (this is all within the Channel.) Now cntrl-L (this is the short cut to the Levels dialogue.) Now slide the 2 faders into the middle. You will see the edge get crisp again. Once you get it to where there is no jaggies, then cntrl-click that layer to select it again, go back to the Layers Panel, create a new layer, choose your color and fill it. Learn this technique well because I have found it one of the most useful. You can use it to give anything rounded corners, also you can take off jagged edges with it. |
