i am trying to make a website with imageready, and i have the animations saved, but it wont let me optimize it (in the box) so then it automatically makes it a jpg, and i cant find a way to get it to a .gif.. because i want the animations. thanks.

When you import your work into IR, you slice the areas you want to make individual images out of. So in the area of your .gif animation you would choose the slice tool, make a slice around the appropriate area, then change that area to a .gif....

If you do that, then you save the entire page as one file, which defeats the purpose of using IR to slice up your page and make seperate images out of it. There is a window (I dont have IR in front of me) where you see all the information about the file type and compression stuff. There you can change values for each image so that you get the best optimization.

If you select the Slice tool --> hold down that little arrow so you see all the options available for the slice tool. There is a slice select tool. Use that to click on a slice area. Then you can edit each slice that is selected individually. Saving it optimized is correct the way you have it, but what I think your missing is you are saving it optimized using the defaults, and not actually optimizing the images yourself.
