You know how you get photo negitives when you get your photos back from the photo place? Well, I really need to know, how I can make them. Just the strip part. Is there a tutorial, or something?

got a scanner? otherwise start with a rectangular marquee(sp?) and fill it with a reddish/brown color. Make another selction (hold shift) and stroke a square. Copy/paste the square the lenght of the rectangle in the middle (leave space at each ends). Stroke another square (really freakin small) and copy/paste it the same lenght above the squares. copy/paste what you just did below the row of squares. At an interval..cut out triangular selections from the top and bottom. Now in the large squares (first one you made) insert your fav. photo...invert the colors...desaturate..and then bring down the contrast until the photos are almost gray. Put a layer (set to color mode) over this and use a sepia (reddish) tone to color the black and white images. Next...depending on how much of a real look you want....add noise...add scratches/dust whatever you need. Then play with the layer style and make some shiny highlights (give it a plastic film look). Thats a quick 10 min. crash course. Maybe some of that is helpful. edit: Here is what i just did in about 10 minutes(from my own advice). This will at least give you an idea of what im talking about. Maybe it looks cheesy...fake i dont know. But here it is My Negative Tutorial Result |
