Okay, you see the buttons on the forums (Home,Profile,Register...)? On top of it you see the pattern with dots and stuff. How is that done?

That's pretty simple to achieve. Just save that image, zoom in to about 400 or 500% in PS and you should easily be able to see how it's done. :D

Exactly.

Just make a gradient and kindof beveled dots...can't be too hard. ;)

All you need to do is zoom in and make the squares with the 1 pixel pencil tool.

Make a dark shade, then draw one pixel.

Then choose a lighter shade, and put one to the right, bottom, and lower-right of the first pixel.

That will highlight it and make it look like the dot is going into the material.

If you want it to look like it is on top of the material, just put the lighter shade on the top, left and top-left of the original pixel.

Then take your marquee selection tool (the square) and select those pixels, and about 3 blank pixels on either side of it.

Then go to Edit > Define pattern.

Then choose the paintbucket tool (hold down on the gradient tool button if you don't see it) and look up at the top of the screen where the options for the tool are. For the Fill: menu, choose Pattern.

Then right next to it you will see Pattern:. Choose the pattern you just created. Should be the last one on the bottom.

Now just click anywhere in your image to fill it with that pattern. (make sure you don't have anything selected first. [CTRL+D])
