Photoshop Secret?

Okay,

I know this 'effect' can't be that hard to do, because oh-so-many people do it for their signatures but a member named: Malevolent_Jester, has it in his sig which is soo beautiful. I am wondering how he created all those flashing lights and swirls of light and it looks like tubes and stuff and thin lines. Just please, please, if you love God, please tell me how. I'll throw in a good word for you at the heavens' gates :D.
