my font is really small(microscopic) and when i zoom in its just a gray rectangle

for some reason when i try and type i just see the blinking bar but its very very small, illegible, and when i actually type the words i just see like a straight line, than i zoom in and its like a gray line and thats it

Make sure the resolution you're working in is 72ppi. To change it, go to Image->Image Size; Resolution: 72.
