Hey Public Newbie #1 here again. This time, and don't laugh... How do you reposition something in PS6? Say for example I have a picture as the background and I write the work COW on a separate layer... BUT after I write it I realize I want it a little lower... How do I select the text and move it around at will? Thanks people! carlos |

Select the layer with the word on it (click the layer on the layers palette). On the toolbar, choose the Move Tool (top right corner, arrow with a crosshair). Now you can either click in your work area and drag the text, or use the arrow keys on your keyboard. |

Also, if you're using version 6, make sure that the "Lock" icon isn't present in the layer. Look at the top of the Layers Palette when you have the "COW" layer highlighted. If the 2nd-from-the-right checkbox is ticked (the icon looks like a "plus-sign" with arrows), un-check it. To move with the arrow keys, make sure you've chosen the Move Tool (V). Arrow keys move an object or layer by 1 pixel increments....hold the Shift key and the arrows will move it in 10-pixel increments. |
