Think about an old photo first. Why does it look old??? What makes it so different? Make yourself a list of those elements then try to recreate them. An expample to get you going.....a photo looks old cause it gets faded over time right? So maybe play with the saturation and/or lower the contrast. Experimenting is the only way. I wont explain in detail how to achieve this because first i dont know what kind of photo you have (ex: color photos age diff. then black and white photos) second...i dont know what kind of aging your going for....ripped/burned/dirty/etc???? Just experiment. Get your mind going. Understand why a photo looks old not how you make it old.

I've got a write-up on here I did some time ago: http://www.teamphotoshop.com/forum/vbforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1705&highlight=scratches EDIT: Those photos linked in my little tutorial are non-existant at that host. Let me see if I still have them on my computer. |

OK, I could not find the images that I made for that tutorial, but I do have this that I did to me and my car turned into an old postcard. I'm sure this was done according to my directions in that thread: http://mattboyslim.rdi1.com/oldpostcard.jpg |
