Ok this sounds so easy I feel stupid that I just can't figure it out.... I want to make something like this in photoshop... I made this one in mspaint real fast just to show what I kinda wanted... Heres what I'm trying to do... I made the black background Then the teal rectangles Then made black outlines of circles filled in the areas cut by the cirlces with orange ..... Seems really easy to do but I can't get it to work... The first problem I have is that when I make a circle it colors the whole thing in and I can't make just the outline of it. So I'm pretty much stuck at that part.... But I want to make the ciricle and then fill the parts in with a different color... I just started with photoshop so I thought it would be easy... I've tried the blending options and the stuff at the top when you click the ellipse tool but I don't think thats what I need to do... If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. thx Any questions or to help ya can just post here or email me at ofjurai@bellsouth.net thx again |

To make the outlien of a circle, use the elliptical marquee and make a circle. Then go to Edit->Stroke; 1px Inside and whatever color you want. That will leave you with just the outline. If you want to fill the circle and give the outline a different color, just use the elliptical marquee tool again, fill the selection with the color of your choice, and then Edit->Stroke; 1px Center. |

Well I wouldn't do it like that - I'd make the a green image, with the orange circles (could be done with the marquee tool or the shape tool) And then I'd make a layer filled with black - make the opacity to something I could see though - add a layermask - and fill with black in the places where the green and orange cicles should be visible... And finally set the opacity to 100% again So - my shoot is that you really have no idea what i'm talking about... so I've made a quick tutorial for you - http://www.smallville.dk/boxeffect/page1.htm there you can find it... If there's anything you don't understand, just ask me
