Since a while ago, ive been trying to figure out by myself how to do this, yet i dont seem to be able to get the hang... Suppose i have image A and B. I have Image A in the left, and B on the right. What i need to do is, someway, make the images merge on their edges, so a part of image A, slowly turns into a part of image B (in the measure you move your vision to the right), like a light transition. I remember once doing something similar by placing a gradient in a mask and then merging the layer with the mask and the other one, but i cant remember exactly how it was now If anybody understands what im meaning...how can that be done in PS6? |

I have exactly the same question, except Im using 3 picutures. I tried just changing the opacity on them all, but the lines where pictures overlapped showed and it looked really bad.

I'm not really sure I understood the question - but do you want it to look a bit like this http://www.smallville.dk/flow1.jpg ?

Exactly like that! That is pretty much how I want to make it look.

Make sure each image is on its own layer, then just use the eraser tool with a large brush size to feather the edges of the pictures, so they blend together.

No - don't use the eraser tool, that would be really crap if you were to change it later - make 2 layers, one with image A and one with image B, then add a layermask to the layer at the top (guess that would be B here) and then choose the Gradient Tool - and make the colors black to white ... and draw a line, with the tool, inside the layermask... Then you'd get the thing I made.. If you want to make the blending a bit more random, choose a brush and just paint black (makes it transparent) or white (does the opposite) you can also paint gray to get different opacity levels of the transparency (hope you understood that - not sure i did *LOL*) - but I would prefer the Opacity function in the Brushes toolbar Hope that helped a bit.. |

Alrighty, I understood what you meant, I did a little searching and found a tutorial off the main page that explained how to do this. Soooooo......here are what the original layers looked like. And now my pretty much completed sig. Pretty much 3 blends, a colorize, few scanlines blended on the side, and my nick kinda in there. I could use some suggestions on ways to spice up how my name stands out though. Comments and criticism welcome. You get a cookie if you can tell me what game those car pics are from :p |
