looking for photo effect

this is actually a work in progress, thought i'd get some thoughts from you guys. i'm looking to integrate a single photo into the white space in the center (this will be a brochure cover) but i haven't found an illustration style i've liked in the playing i've done. i want something kind of vector-y but i'm not sure what. any thoughts?

I'd be a little worried about getting too busy. White space is a good thing, and I see by your other comps that you've been trying other layouts. Keep working with the elements you already have and see if you can make it work.

thanks µ23, and yeah, busyness is a valid concern. the thing is i also know the client and that they're big on pictures, and chances are they're going to want a pic of some kind on the front.

appreciate the input, i'll keep playing and see what happens...
