my photoshop aint workin |

i tried reinatalling it again and it said something about its scrach volume and widows being on the same drive- what does that mean?

That means your scratch disks and your OS are on the same volume (drive). If you partitioned your drive with just one partition - then you cant do anything about it. But if you say (good for future reference.) allocated enough space for your OS and maybe applications on one partition or drive, then put everything else on another, you can set up your scratch disk space to point to a different location via the preferences section in PS. I always keep my OS on its own drive or partition, so after I install, I clean it up - defrag it, delete any setUp files, etc. and dont touch it. That way you dont have fragmentation issues with the partition the OS runs on and if you get a dreaded virus for some reason and have to reinstall, you wont lose your files.

good idea but my photoshop still shuts itself down after i intialize it

did you try manually deleting those files in documets and settings after you uninstalled?

the last thing it says when it loads up is "loading color presets"

Hey, did you get it working? because if you didn't, and it's a silly thing to point out, but you may be out of memory. My photoshop shuts down at home because I don't have enough RAM (128 doesn't go very far these days!!) when I'm running multiple programs. Same with my Illustrator. It doesn't give any warning, just shuts down. |
