Hi everyone. I'm getting together a bunch of artists work to put together a website for them but I'm having trouble with one of the artists files. He sent the pics to me in a .jpg format but off of his Mac.I can't get them to load on my machine or any other program (photoshop, fireworks) for that matter. So I am asking a favor. Can someone with a Mac open these 4 pics for me and save them in a format that I can open on my PC?

The pics are in a .Jpg format but when I try to open them in Photoshop it says:

"Could not open `file name.jpg` because an unknown or invalid JPEG maker type is found"

So can someone see if they can get them to open and post them back in this post so I can get them?

Thanks so much in advance.
DD

PS. Or just tell me what I’m doing wrong :-)

They need to change the preferences in their email client so that files are encoded as "AppleDouble." This will preserve their integrity, but I might suggest that you instruct all your participants to get and learn how to use a compression utility, like WinZIP or Aladdin's Stuffit. Smaller files and NO chance of corruption.

I'm guessing the guy is simply naming the file with ".jpg" even though it's probably a PSD or who-knows file. Tell him to save it as a JPG from Photoshop, by using the "Save for Web" option. He can't screw that up;)

(I'm a Mac user too, so I'm not hating on Mac people:D )

If this guy doesn't know enough about computing in general, and specifically how to use Photoshhop to send you a proper JPEG, send 'em back to hit the books for a while.
