Multi-Layered Ring effect |

At tut "Multi-Layered Ring effect", step 4 we find this paragraph: "Rename this channel to bevel. Once you have renamed the channel to bevel go to Filter/Blur/Guassian Blur and choose a value of 8. Then Guassian Blur it again with a value of 5, and one more time with a value of 1." Why is it??? Why can't we put a bigger value to the gaussian blur effect, instead of repeating it three times with differents values??? If i put 14 for the Gaussian value once, isn't it return with the same effect??? thx:confused: |

I'd guess that it's because every time you add gaussian blur, it takes it from the image as it is at the moment, not the start image. But it really shouldn't make the big difference with the gaussian blur filter... i think

no it won't the same.. its like if you wanted to varnish your hardwood or something, you'd use different types of sandpaper until your final finish .. hope this helps you |
