Hi eveyone. I'm new to this site. I have done a search but haven't been able to find what I am looking for.

Can somebody explain to me how to make a mosaic picture. I want to make one large picture which is made up of many tiny little pictures. Just like those posters you see of a pixelated picture of something or someone made up of hundreds of tiny images.

Is there a way to do this manually, or will I need a certain plug-in. I am using Adobe Photoshop 7.0

Thanks,
Jeff

The same way you would do it in real life: get pictures, arrange them in such a way that the complete image looks like something else.

Yeah, there is no plug-on or filter for it. I tried it once. It's a HUGE pain in the ass.

But good luck, and don't forget to show us the result if you actually do it.

Actually, its pretty easy....I think your thinking of Half Tone though..First-You have to switch your image to Greyscale, then your probably gonna want to bump up your contrast a bit. Then put a bit of a blur on the whole pic..then go to your Color half tone filter, it may take a little experimenting, but you'll get it.
If you want color, well, I'll just let you figure that out.

I'll try that, thanks......that really sounds like what I want to do. I'll let everyone know the outcome.
