Using Downloaded Fonts

So I downloaded a font off the web and put it in my C:/WINNT/Fonts folder. The font appears in my list of fonts in Photoshop but when I type I can't see anything. However what I type is stored as the name of the text layer, so it knows I've typed something in, I just can't see it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You make sure your font colour isn't the same as your background colour?

Some fonts don't work in certain colors. Some font also don't work in capital letters.
