Can somebody point me to a good "trainer" in color correction, ink settings and other somewhat basic photoshop pre-press tech stuff? We would like to have "in-house" training for our photographers and pagination people. We would need to start from scratch, including loading inks, calibration and whatever else we need to do to get consistant results from our brand spankin new press. We are a circulation of about 25,000. Any and all help would be greatly appriciated. (My butts on the line on this!) |

I watched a video by boss had that talked about color correction, so I'm sure if your look you could probably find a good one. Also check out some books, there's a ton of them out there. I don't know any right off hand that talks about the topics you listed, but I'll bet there are a bunch.

I read this book about a year ago and thought it was a great resource. Its not too expensive and gives very clear information on pre press.... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1568304684/002-7023666-3709664?vi=glance |

Not to take anything away from our loyal membership, but you may find more specialised help at www.sitepoint.com or even (and this is more of a long shot) www.computerarts.co.uk

First of all make sure that you RGB-CMYK conversion is accurate to press. useing Spot color correction and a % press color book you can do localized color correction. There are alot of questions about closed loop, and so on I would like to ask you to help you better. I also do consulting if your company is interested. 816-896-8700 |
