I was wondering if there is some simple way of creating this sleek black and white look:

I mean, I presume it has something to do with turning up the contrast really high on grayscale, but other than that.... I derno. Thanks.

Image->Adjustment->Threshold, and slide the sliders around a bit. The result will be your starting point. From there, you'd have to rely on your own artistic skills and fix it up. :] Look at other examples to get the idea.

Using vector based drawing programs, like frehand or illustrator will help you create these too.

streamline would help.. but !mo0chan!'s suggestion is more on point... on that some note. it helps to adjust the levels of the image depeding on which of the features you want to stand out the most.

Alright, i've just figured out the PERFECT way of achieving this effect with Only Photoshop! So here goes-
1- Flip your image to greyscale
2- Adjust the brightness and contrast until its to your liking
3- Go to Image>Adjustments>Posterize and set it to 3
4- Go to Filter>Artistic>Cutout
BAM
that will give you a pic with greys as well as blacks, if you just want black, then just play with the Threshold and then do the Cutout filter.
It may take a little playing with, but it works GREAT

You should make an example with these instructions and put it in the Techniques area!
