Was curious what everyone's favorite Photoshop book would be? Not necessarily looking for any beginner books - something more advanced. I'm especially interested if anyone has any recommendations on retouching on a commercial level - something more than just how to remove red eye from your parent's holiday pictures. Any suggestions? |

I've been through the New Riders page and the Amazon Associates book links; was looking for some reviews/opinions from other forum members on some of their favorite books.

I got a brand new copy of the classroom in a book for 24 bucks for v7.0! But it's very basic. It's nice to have when you don't have an instruction manual or wanna learn basic techniqes. Other than that Teamphotoshop.com rules and saves you money!

"New Masters of Photoshop" is a great book For retouching you might wanna try "Photoshop Face to Face"...It goes through a lot of face retouching techniques. |

new master is cool... but i tend to lean towards books that are more about the technical aspect and less about style.. the ACE book is the best for that, you can buy it from the adobe certification program |

I have a ps book called ' 40 photoshop power effects' from fiendsoft. It's really nice, learns you how to make interfaces, textures and misc. effects. |

xatapult, remember that Face to Face isn't really about realistic retouching though. Anyway, I actually agree with xatapult though, that is my favourite photoshop book, and I'm not pimping myself or anything, but it's the only book that has actually taught me anything about PS. There are a couple of highly recommended books on photo retouching, search amazon with the words "photoshop retouch techniques" I think and they'll be there. One is by Friends Of Ed. |
