I thought I asked this question last night, but it doesn't appear, so if this duplicates, sorry... Have new silver tower G4, OS 9.2.2 Photoshop 6 & 7, Epson 1200U scanner. On Import, Epson Train, halfway through scan get message "problem communicating with scanner, function not implemented" after OK, "could not complete import command because of a problem with the scanner." All cables are tight & connected. I thought it might need an updated driver - downloaded most recent one for this OS from Epson site, installed, same problem. (This scanner worked properly on other G3 with Photoshop 6&7) Went to other computer & compared extensions & prefs in Photoshop plugins & also system extensions & prefs. Looked like one was missing from OS system prefs, Twain folder. Copied that one pref, & placed it in the Twain folder in OS prefs. Restarted. Then had crash, & after multiple triese to restart, just get a gray screen without even a sad mac face. Can't restart from stripped down start-up disk, can't even open the CD door (there's no open button on tower) - opens from keyboard I guess, but nothing is functioning now. Any suggestions? |

never heard that one before ![]() split your tower's shell and manually remove the disk - then try to boot it from another comp...that is if you had a network able system before the crash... if not - well - the G4 (you said) is brand new - that sounds like a case for tech support if I ever heard one... |
